Tips for Zoom Presenters

SESSION PRESENTERS

Your Goal: Help participants focus on your message by creating a clear, stable, and distraction-free Zoom experience.

Before the Convention

Identify the Right Device

✅ Join from a desktop or laptop computer.

❌ Please do not present from a phone or tablet (iPad), as these devices often limit screen sharing, camera controls, and Zoom features.

Internet Connection

  • Wired Ethernet is best.
  • If using Wi-Fi, work from a location with a strong, stable signal.
  • Ask others nearby to avoid heavy streaming or video phone conversations during your session.

Camera Setup

  • Position your camera at eye level.
  • Face a window or soft light when possible.
  • Avoid bright windows or lights behind you.

Audio Setup

  • Use a USB headset or quality external microphone if available.
  • Choose a quiet room.
  • Silence phones and other notifications. Consider placing phone on airplane more to enhance wi-fi usage.

Computer Preparation

  • Update Zoom to the latest version.
  • Close unnecessary programs and browser tabs.
  • Plug your computer into power source.

💻Consider joining a technology check session provided by our event producer, Everflow Consulting & Design. Click here to sign up for one of four blocks in the days leading up to the session. It should only take 5-10 minutes to confirm your settings.
