Meet Our Members: Jim Sewell and Charlene Jacob

On the Road Again

Many couples share dreams of unending travel and adventure, but Jim Sewell and Charlene Jacob are actually fulfilling that dream! Since selling their home in 2021 they have been living a full-time “on-the-road” life in their RV, exploring the country. They traveled extensively before starting their family, and after 37 years together they realized that nomadic spirit was missing in their lives. They are currently in Alaska and will make their way down the West Coast beginning in October. They have gone from “headed to divorce” to “headed across the continent” since joining CCC 11 years ago.

Living in a small space, the ability to communicate that they developed in CCC has been critical for them. They both say that the habits of weekly calls as well as quarterly meetings are essential to the health of their Couple. They now feel that they can have deep, meaningful conversations with each other and with other members of their circle. Where they used to work well as individuals, each playing a role in supporting their life and family, they now work together as a team to fulfill their dreams.

Jim and Charlene have been the source couple for the Northern New Jersey circle, have served on the convention committee, and have co-led presentations at three conventions. They are looking forward to connecting with friends as they travel down the West Coast and plan to arrive in Texas in 2024 to experience a total solar eclipse.

Their advice for other couples is this: Any relationship can be enriched if you take the time to nurture it. CCC is a hidden gem for couples that can allow for a generational impact as our children see us transform our marriages.

We all wish them the best as their adventures continue. Safe travels! You can follow them on Instagram – @wanderingsparklers to see more of their photos and see where they are headed next.
